Humble Beginnings

The Campus was founded in 1947 by Wendell and Edith Foster. After learning that their daughter, Louise, had been diagnosed with severe cerebral palsy and mental retardation, the Fosters committed their lives to helping children with complicated developmental disabilities.

For all thy bountiful gifts, we give thanks…

From their humble beginnings serving seven children with homemade therapy equipment in the back yard of their home, the Fosters began a mission for both children and adults that still today empowers people who experience severe disabilities to realize their dreams and potentials.

Their legacy lives on as we strive to become the region’s resource for developmental disabilities.
