Wendell Foster's Campus is proud to support the national campaign sponsored by the Special Olympics to "Spread the Word to End the Word." Specifically, this campaign exists to educate folks on how hurtful it is to use the word(s) "retard(ed)." Language has a strong and powerful impact and when we eliminate hurtful or derogatory terms, we take a step toward acceptance and unity for all persons. People with intellectual disability deserve our respect and we are happy to share that message with our friends and community members.
